Anyone who thinks that the journey to Italy ends in Paestum is mistaken. Beyond the beautiful Greek temples lies the Cilento National Park, a world heritage site, hiking and swimming paradise. The large peninsula between the Gulf of Salerno and the Gulf of Policastro on the Tyrrhenian Sea offers about a hundred kilometers of coastline with crystal clear waters and a hinterland of awe-inspiring mountains, deep gorges and untouched nature. There are also many cultural highlights, for example the grandiose Baroque splendor of the Monastery of San Lorenzo in the Vallo di Diano. Several individualists will be particularly satisfied: many of Cilento's most beautiful sights can only be reached on foot.
