A paradise for wine and hiking enthusiasts, for gourmets and cyclists. The German Wine Route runs between the Rhine with the bustling cathedral city of Speyer and the Dahner Felsenland in the Palatinate Forest, where there is much to discover in addition to serene wine festivals and picturesque wine estates. From the countless castles that towered on cliffs such as the Trifels above Annweilers the fate of the country was controlled, today they are striking viewpoints and spectacular playgrounds for children. The fragrant, pine-lined southern slopes of the Palatinate Forest and autumn in all imaginable colors that radiate the foliage of the vines are fantastic.
